Day 3 - We Feel Fine

Today was a busy day for us and wedding logistics occupied much of our time. We started our day with an appointment in Kapa'a to get our marriage license. This took place in a little market (that is not a typo) where the store owner took our information and typed up the license while locals and tourists alike streamed in and out for Hawaiian takeout and groceries. Their shoyu chicken is known all over the island, but we opted for the Spam musubi instead.

We then went back to Hanalei so that Andrea could have a "hair trial" at a local beauty shop. Heaven forbid that she has a bad hair day on Thursday, so this gave her the opportunity to do a trial run with her hair. All went well so don't worry ... the wedding is not off due to bad hair!

After the trip to the salon, we had some time to kill, so we went to our favorite spot on Hanalei Bay and sat out in the sun and splashed around in the surf. Wade was bummed because the waves were very small and he couldn't boogie board. Maybe tomorrow.

We finished our day of wedding prep by meeting our wedding coordinator, Diana, at the Princeville Resort (we're getting married on their beach). She gave us a "day of" run through and showed us the spot where the blessed event will occur. Another couple nearby was actually getting married so we gave them a few golf claps when they kissed. It was very sweet.

Here's the view from the spot where we'll be saying our vows in just three days:

Mahalo! (not sure what that means, but it's different from aloha, right?)
Great idea for the blog, but I too am anxiously awaiting Day 4, so get to work! As for today, enjoy your last day as 'non-married' folks for tomorrow begins a new chapter! Don't worry, marriage is a great institution . . . if you like being institutionalized!
